  • Satellite Launches: In January 2024, SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket deployed the first set of Starlink satellites equipped with Direct-to-Cell capabilities, marking a pivotal step toward the partnership's objectives.

  • FCC Approval: By November 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted SpaceX permission to operate its satellite direct-to-cellular service with T-Mobile, representing the first approval of its kind for supplemental coverage from space.

  • Public Beta Launch: As of February 2025, T-Mobile announced the wide-scale testing of its satellite-to-cell service powered by Starlink. The beta trial is free until July, after which it will be included in T-Mobile's premium Go5G Next plan at no extra cost and can be added to other plans for $15 a month post-commercial launch this summer.
